Benefits of Wood Candle Containers

Wood is natural, beautiful, and renewable. Enjoy a truly unique aesthetic that delivers a luxury candle experience, and never sacrifice your candle container again.
Renewable

Our wood containers are made from birch, a fast-growing, abundant tree species. By choosing reusable containers, you help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills (estimated at over 1 million candle containers per year).

One of a Kind

The natural grain of wood means each container is unique, adding a touch of elegance and warmth to any decor.

Durable and Long-Lasting

Wood is a robust and durable material, allowing our containers to last no matter how often you like to burn candles. Mostly shielded by the aluminum insert, they can withstand the heat of the candle flame and maintain their integrity over time, ensuring you get the most out of each container.

Sustainable

By opting for reusable wood containers, you support a more sustainable and circular economy. You'll also save some money, only paying for the candles you burn, and not a new container every time.

Other Common Candle Containers

Borosilicate Glass

Borosilicate Glass

Borosilicate glass is a popular material for candle containers due to its heat resistance, durability, and clarity properties. While it is sometimes made from recycled glass, it is generally not recycled after use.
Soda Lime Glass

Soda Lime Glass

Soda lime glass is also commonly used in candles, and while not as heat resistant, can still provide adequate durability (and a safety issue if the wrong type is used). It's both cheaper and recyclable, offering a good material option when used properly.
Concrete

Concrete

Manufacturing concrete is a labor and material intensive process with higher CO2 emissions than alternatives, and is also heavier to ship affecting the carbon footprint. It's also stylish and easy to repurpose, but it's not recyclable.
Ceramic

Ceramic

Ceramics are energy-intensive to produce, more expensive, and heavier to ship. They're also naturally heat-resistant and durable, with an elegant look making them easy to reuse or repurpose. Ceramic is not recyclable.
Metal

Metal

Common metals used for candle containers are aluminum, steel, and tin - which are all separately recyclable. Metal is also light and durable. The downside is that metal conducts heat, creating a hazard for people and furniture - which is why we wrap ours in wood.

Why we're using wood

At Sero Candles, we are committed to sustainability and quality. We chose birch for our first containers for its abundant, fast growing nature making it easier to grow and manage responsibly.

Wood is a renewable resource that offers great longevity, reducing the need for single-use containers. By choosing reusable wood containers, you're helping reduce landfill waste - one candle at a time.
