Soy-Coconut Wax

A clean, sustainable wax for a cleaner, longer-lasting burn.

Our candles are crafted from 100% soy-coconut wax for a cleaner burn and longer-lasting fragrance. Combined with wood wicks, they provide the cleanest, most enjoyable burn we've been able to formulate so far.

Benefits of Vegetable Wax

Cleaner Burn

Soy-coconut wax burns slowly and cleanly, producing less soot than paraffin wax candles. It also emits significantly less harmful chemicals like toluene and benzene when burned.

Longer Lasting

Soy-coconut wax has a lower melting point, allowing your candles to burn slower and last longer, providing more hours of enjoyment.

No Paraffin

Soy and coconut can be renewably harvested and we only source from responsible partners. Compared to paraffin, a byproduct of petroleum, it's a much more sustainable wax choice.

Superior Fragrance

We've formulated our wax and scent blend to deliver a subtle yet present fragrance, releasing a consistent amount of scent throughout the life of the candle.

Common Alternative Candle Waxes

Paraffin Wax

Derived from petroleum, paraffin wax is the most common candle wax but can produce more soot and is not renewable.

Beeswax

A natural byproduct of beekeeping, beeswax is sustainable and has a natural honey scent, but is generally more expensive. We plan to adopt it as an option in future Sero Candles.

Palm Wax

Harvested from palm trees, palm wax creates a unique crystalline effect but raises concerns about deforestation and habitat destruction.

Coconut Wax

Derived from coconut meat, coconut wax offers excellent scent throw and clean burning properties. It's renewable, biodegradable, and generally considered more sustainable than many alternatives.

Blended Waxes

Blended candle waxes aim to harness the best properties of each component. They also often contain paraffin for improved performance while claiming sustainability.

Sustainability

We've chosen not to use paraffin wax or any petroleum-based ingredients in our candles. Instead, we use a soy-coconut wax blend, a sustainable and eco-friendly option crafted from renewable resources. Soybeans and coconuts are renewable crops that can be replanted annually, and their cultivation has a relatively low environmental impact.

This blend provides the clean-burning benefits of soy wax with the smooth, even melting characteristics of coconut wax, ensuring a longer-lasting and premium candle experience. Additionally, our wax blend is biodegradable and produces less soot than paraffin candles, promoting better indoor air quality.
