Our Candle Ingredients

Wooden Wicks

Enjoy a cleaner burn, a gentle crackling sound, and an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cotton wicks.

Wooden candle wicks are crafted from natural wood - producing a distinctive crackling sound when burning, reminiscent of a cozy fireplace, adding an extra sensory dimension to your candle experience.

Benefits of Wood Wick Candles

Our wooden wicks are FSC certified, meaning the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
Cleaner Burn

Our wood wicks produce less soot and smoke compared to most cotton wicks, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment in your home.

Consistent Burn

Thanks to their sturdy structure, wood wicks never migrate around the candle, and generally burn more slowly - providing a longer-lasting, enjoyable candle experience.

Multi-Sensory Experience

The uniquely shaped flame, gentle crackling sound, and (up to 35%) greater fragrance throw combine for a more immersive candle burning experience.

Unique Aesthetic

Paired with our wood containers, the natural look of our wood wick candles create an elegant and cozy atmosphere in any room.

Eco-Friendly

Our wood wicks are made from sustainably sourced wood, making them a more environmentally friendly choice compared to many more common candle wicks.

Common Alternative Candle Wicks

Braided Cotton Wicks

Braided Cotton Wicks

These are the most common type of candle wicks. They are made from braided cotton and come in flat, square, and round varieties. Compared to other wicks, cotton wicks produce more soot while burning, can contain farming pesticides unless organic, and generally burn faster than wood.
Wax-Coated Cotton Wicks

Wax-Coated Cotton Wicks

These are cotton wicks coated in wax to make them more rigid and easier to work with, particularly in container candles. They help keep the wick centered and upright but the wax coating can contain additives you'd rather not breathe in.
Paper Core Wicks

Paper Core Wicks

Paper core wicks are more rigid and provide a strong and steady flame. The resulting burn may produce more soot, however, and they're generally less environmentally friendly compared to wood and hemp wicks.
Metal Core Wicks

Metal Core Wicks

These have a cotton outer braid with a zinc core that helps the wick stay upright and prevents it from drowning in the wax. The downside is that they emit trace amounts of metal, such as zinc, during burning which is not ideal to inhale. They can also provide a more intense, "stiffer" flame.
Hemp Wicks

Hemp Wicks

Made from natural hemp fibers, these wicks are eco-friendly and burn cleanly. They tend to be more expensive to manufacture, burn hotter which can shorten burn time, and can be susceptible to migration during the burning process.

Sustainability

Wood wicks are our ideal choice for a more environmentally conscious candle. Made from a renewable resource and sourced from forests that follow sustainable practices, wood wicks support a more sustainable candle industry.

Wood wicks also tend to burn cleaner, releasing fewer particulates into the air which can migrate around your home, and lungs.
