Every Sero candle is poured with 100% soy wax.
Soy is an oxygenated fuel: it brings its own oxygen to combustion, which is why it burns with less soot than paraffin.
The lower melting point gives you a slower, more even burn.

Wood Wicks
Our wicks are natural, responsibly harvested wood.
The crackle you hear comes from micro-explosions of moisture and volatiles in the wood grain as it burns.
They do have a learning curve. We think the sensory difference is worth it.
Cleaner Fragrance Oils
Every fragrance we use is free of phthalates, parabens, carcinogens, mutagens, and reproductive, organ, and acute toxins.
We developed our three scents with a family-run fragrance house to be subtle yet present.
After the last burn
Most glass candle jars never make it to recycling, and craft containers usually don't have a second life. We built Sero to solve both.
Recyclable Aluminum
Our candles recycle with your cans.
Laser-etched instead of labeled, with wick clips welded in place instead of glued, so there's nothing to separate before it recycles.
Aluminum beverage cans can go from the recycling bin to a newly formed can in under 60 days on average, and our candles recycle in that same stream.
Beech Wood Containers
The container is the part worth keeping.
The split-shell magnetic design locks the aluminum candle in place, so you can swap scents anytime, with no need to burn a candle down first.
We chose beech for its tight grain and natural durability, and sealed it with a protective finish.
Plastic-Free Packaging
Our candle tubes and shipping boxes are all kraft paper.
Printed directly instead of labeled, with no plastic wrap, foam, or stickers, and every piece goes in your recycling.

What are Sero candles made of?
100% soy wax, a natural wood wick and phthalate-free fragrance oils, poured in recyclable aluminum with no labels or glue. The candles drop into a reusable wood container, or burn on their own.
How much fragrance is in each candle?
The fragrance load is set per scent: 8% for Renew and Uplift, 4% for Unwind. We describe it as subtle yet present.
Why fragrance oils instead of essential oils?
Fragrance oils give us batch-to-batch consistency and a wider range of scents than essential oils can.
What about pets?
Scented with phthalate-free fragrance oils, not essential oils. Veterinary poison centers list tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint, and citrus among the essential oils toxic to cats and dogs.
Can I recycle the candle if there's wax left in it?
Yes. Leftover wax won't keep the aluminum from being recycled. Scrape out what comes away easily so it doesn't get on the paper in the same bin, then recycle the candle with your cans.
